Gun-related Crimes on the Rise in Florida

Florida officials are expressing concern over the rising rate of gun crimes that seem to be occurring. Even more frightening, they report, is that the criminals seem to be shooting first, and asking questions later. Many of the criminals seem to simply enjoy killing. Authorities have called it a callous disregard for human life. For instance, some criminals were cited as saying that at one robbery, they wanted to “up their body count,” so they shot several innocent bystanders. Older policemen and citizens claim that this is caused by the usual culprits- violent television and video games. However, they also claim that the Internet and social networking sites may desensitize people and keep them from having actual relationships.
